Alison Brown, CIP, CAIB
Vice President, Operations
Alison grew up surrounded by insurance and married into an insurance family, making it an obvious career choice for her. Her career began at Anderson Insurance in 1988 and, in 1996, she joined her mentor and friend Nancy Thorne at Carnaghan Taylor Insurance. In 2016 Alison became a partner and VP of Operations of the newly formed brokerage Carnaghan Thorne Insurance Group Inc. While maintaining her current role as an insurance broker, Alison continues to provide expert advice and quality products to her many clients.
Alison obtained her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation in 2000 and her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in 2002. She currently sits on the Board of the Insurance Institute of New Brunswick as First Vice Chair and was awarded their Volunteer of the Year Award in 2020.
Alison was born and raised in Rothesay, NB, and currently resides on the West side of Saint John with her husband Chris. In her spare time, Alison loves to spend time with their grown children and dog Piper and cat Finnigan. She also enjoys travel, music and curling up with a good book.

Rob Hutton, BBA, CAIB, CIP
VP Commercial Lines
Rob graduated from the University in 2004 and started working as a receptionist at WW Thorne Insurance in Sussex shortly afterwards. He received his Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in 2007 and his Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation in 2010. Rob has progressed through the insurance brokerage to work in every role. Currently, he is a partner and the VP of Commercial Operations. Rob has been involved with a few organizations in his spare time. He helped create the Dominion Park Ice Fishing association, was a member of the Saint John West Business Association and spent two years on the Board of Directors of the Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce. Currently, he is a junior curling instructor and the 2nd VP of the Carleton Curling Club.
Rob lives on the West Side of Saint John with his beautiful wife Nicole, their two daughters Rachel and Sylvie, and their four-legged friends Jag and Poise. When Rob has some down time, he loves to curl, golf, hunt, fish and go camping with his family and friends.

Geordie Lamb, CAIB
Geordie started in the insurance industry working for his father-in-law at Buckley Insurance in 2001. He moved over to Carnaghan Taylor Insurance in 2008 as a broker. Since then, he has held various positions within the company and became Vice President of Carnaghan Thorne Insurance group in 2016 which is the position he currently holds.
Geordie completed his Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation with honors in 2004. Over his career, he has been actively involved in industry business and served as the President of the Broker’s Association of New Brunswick in 2013. He has also been involved in various committees over his career as well.
Geordie and his wife Janet live in Quispamsis with their son Andrew and two dogs Luna and Gigi. They enjoy spending time outside gardening, walks with the dogs, and meeting with friends and family.

Adam Forstner, BBA, CAIB
Adam has been in the insurance industry since 2016, after completing his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at UNB Fredericton. He joined the Carnaghan Thorne team in 2019.
Adam has a German Shepherd named “Chewie”, who is a frequent office guest, and can usually be found sleeping in his favorite chair (Chewie, not Adam). In Adam’s free time, he plays golf and hockey, and is a coach of the U18 KV Hawks Hockey Team.

Beth Quinn, CAIB
Bringing with her over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Beth joined the Carnaghan Thorne Insurance Team in 2019. Beth obtained her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in 2013 and specializes in both personal & commercial insurance.
In her spare time, Beth enjoys spending time with her family and friends, but especially enjoys her time spent with her three grandchildren.

Shane Stokes, BSc, CAIB
Shane has been working in the insurance industry since 2009 after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from UNBSJ. He transitioned into a broker role in 2019 and quickly obtained his Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation and started working in both personal and commercial lines insurance. Shane is extremely passionate about providing excellent customer service and will go out of his way to make sure you are satisfied and understand all aspects of your policies.
Outside of work, Shane is an avid sports fan, whether it’s cheering on his favorite teams (the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Boston Red Sox) or being involved in playing golf, football, baseball or any fun camping games. Shane also loves spending time with his wife Trish, and their three children Brady, Emmaleigh and Madelin, and they love spending their summers camping in their trailer all over New Brunswick and Maine.
Aaron began working in the insurance industry in 2000. He joined Carnaghan Thorne as a broker in 2017. Aaron enjoys his time in the insurance industry and is always looking forward to gaining more experience while serving our clients in an efficient and professional manner.
When Aaron is not at work, he can be found at home with his wife, two sons, and, several pets.

Joe joined Carnaghan Thorne in April of 2018. Joe has 10 years’ experience in the insurance industry and writes both personal and commercial insurance.
When Joe is not in the office he enjoys various sports, hunting, and more than anything he loves camping on the weekends at his trailer his wife, dogs and family.

Alissa Belding, CAIB
Alissa joined our team in 2019 after graduating from the Office Administration course at NBCC. She completed her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in 2022 and has had a small taste of the broker role. Alissa quickly found her passion in our Broker Support Team role. Alissa loves to help the brokers as much as she can and to put them in their place when they need it.
Alissa enjoys soaking up the summer weather, music, and spending time with her friends and family.
Nicole Fry, CAIB
Nicole comes from a multi-generational line of insurance professionals, so when the opportunity presented itself to join the Carnaghan Thorne team in 2013, she decided to continue the family tradition. After learning the ropes as the office receptionist, she soon started working toward her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation and transitioned into the role of a broker. She has been providing professional advice and service ever since.
Nicole graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and then obtained her CAIB designation in 2016.
Over the last couple years, Nicole has been travelling between her hometown of Saint John and Halifax, NS where she currently lives with her husband and puppy. With a transfer on the horizon, it won’t be long before she is settled back in the Saint John office full-time!
In her spare time, she can be found tackling a DIY project, whipping up a batch of tasty treats, catching up on a little reality tv, or spending time with her friends and family.
Nicole prides herself in taking the time to build valuable connections with her clients, which enables her to tailor policies to their individual needs. She always enjoys a quick chat to hear about how the family is doing and being filled in on life’s milestones before getting down to business.

Alanna has been working in the insurance industry since 2019 and joined the Carnaghan Thorne team in December 2022. Alanna is currently working towards her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation and focuses primarily on personal lines insurance.
Outside of work, she is a cat mom to Goose and Luna, an avid reader, a music lover, and is currently learning to play bass. You can often find her flipping through vinyl at local record shops.

Kelsie Belmore, CAIB
Kelsie has been working in the insurance industry since 2015 and joined Carnaghan Thorne Insurance Group Inc. in November 2021 as a broker. She works primarily on personal lines, such as home, auto, and recreational, but has slowly been getting her feet wet on the commercial side of things.
Kelsie completed the Office Administration course at NBCC in 2013 and received her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in June 2021 but is still learning every day.
In her spare time, you will find her at the gym, reading, dancing, or spending time with friends and family.

Myles Hall, CIP
Myles began his insurance journey in the 1970’s working summers in the family business, W.W. Thorne Insurance Ltd, and became a full-time broker in 1982. In 1987, he joined Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Co. and spent 11 years in various business development and underwriting roles, ending up as Team Leader Mid-Market Commercial in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
In 1998 Myles and his wife Connie made the decision to return to Sussex with their young family and raise them among family and friends, so Myles and his brother Randy purchased the family business, W.W. Thorne Insurance. He has enjoyed all the challenges of being president of a small company and filling the needs of his commercial insurance clients. Myles has especially enjoyed being part of the new company, Carnaghan Thorne Insurance Group Inc. created by merging with Carnaghan Taylor Insurance in 2016.
Over the years, Myles has served on many industry and community organizations and coached kids sports. Nowadays, when not working Myles and Connie can be found cycling the trails, walking the beaches, or hosting family and friends at their cottage in PEI.

Randy Hall, BBA, CAIB
Vice President – Finance
Randy is a second-generation insurance broker. Having grown up in a family of insurance brokers, he learned a lot about insurance at a young age and worked off and on during the summers in the family business, W. W. Thorne Insurance. Upon graduating from high school, he attended the University of New Brunswick, starting at the Fredericton Campus and then later switching to the Saint John Campus. In May 1997 he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He immediately went back to work for his parents “until he could find another job.” He found he enjoyed the business and stayed with the company. In September 1998, his parents decided to retire, so he joined with his brother Myles and took over the business. During this time, he completed the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) program and moved from being a receptionist to being both a personal lines and commercial lines broker as well as managing the accounting side of the business. Fast forward to 2016 and W. W. Thorne Insurance merged with Carnaghan Taylor Insurance in Saint John to create a larger company with offices in both Sussex and Saint John known as Carnaghan Thorne Insurance Group. He continued with the new ownership group and is now our Vice President – Finance and works full time managing the financial side of Carnaghan Thorne Insurance Group. Currently he also sits on the Board of Directors for the Insurance Brokers Association of New Brunswick. Randy lives in Sussex with his wife Jennifer and their five cats and one dog.
Rachel Riedel, CAIB
Rachel started in the insurance industry in April of 2014, completing her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation 2018. She joined Carnaghan Thorne Insurance in July of 2018 at the Saint John office and then moved to the Sussex office in January 2021.
In her spare time, she goes walking with her family and her dog. She also spends lots of time with her granddaughter and the rest of her family.

Lori has worked in the insurance industry since 2000 and has enjoyed meeting the clients and working along side her coworkers. She joined the Carnaghan Thorne Insurance group in February 2012 as a part-time receptionist. This gave her more time to spend with her husband and two sons. When her sons got older, she then moved into a full- time position in the broker support team where she completes all the broker work on the company portals.
She loves hanging out with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. In her spare time she goes for runs, walks on the beach in St. Martins, and travelling.
Kari Mallory, CAIB
Kari started selling life insurance in 2019 at Co-Operator’s Insurance Co. and moved into auto and home insurance sales. She joined our team in September of 2020 as the receptionist and worked her way up to a broker. Kari completed her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in April of 2023.
Kari’s favorite time spent is with her nephew Aiden.

Chelsea Verner, CAIB
Chelsea joined Carnaghan Thorne part time in the summer of 2017 during her summer break between her 2-year program at NBCC Moncton. After successfully graduating from the Business Administration: Insurance program in May of 2018, she accepted a full-time position with Carnaghan Thorne. After a few years in personal lines, she has been increasing her knowledge and skills in commercial insurance. Chelsea completed her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in 2021 and is currently pursuing her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
In her personal time, Chelsea loves spending time with her fiancé and family. She loves being outside, whether that’s a walk, a bonfire, or a trip to the beach.
